CMS has recently taken steps to increase capacity, quality and operational efficiency. This includes new, higher quality equipment, expanded workforce, and an investment in employee training to ultimately benefit our customers.
Expanded Print Capability
Earlier this year, CMS added 2 OCE Variostream 7550 twin continuous printers. Features of these printers include:
- 600 dpi,
- Up to 18” width,
- Simplex and duplex,
- Fanfold & roll to roll capable
The OCE Variostream produces a higher quality printed product with a higher throughput. Our customers will see a better product with a quicker turn time. – Jeff O’Donnell, COO
The Variostreams are replacing 2 older printers, one of which will be retained as a dedicated samples line. This will result in a quicker turn time and expedited job approval process.
With the equipment changes, CMS is simultaneously reengineering the layout of the laser print department to further increase operational efficiencies.
Expanded Production Capability
CMS has also increased its production capacity by expanding our 2nd shift, with the hiring of both production and management staff. CMS welcomes:
- Mo Howard, who has over 20 years mailing industry experience, is the 2nd Shift Production Manager responsible for the print, bindery and insertion departments on 2nd shift.
- Additionally, Rich Glazer joined the CMS team as the Warehouse Supervisor. Rich has 16 years mailing industry experience specializing in warehousing and logistics.
CMS prides itself on having knowledgeable employees to assist our customers in all phases of the mailing process. In February, several CMS employees renewed their USPS Mail Piece Design Professional (MDP) certification. A few other employees obtained this certification for the first time expanding the number of MDP Certified CMS employees to 12 – this includes members of both the management team, customer service, and operations.
